Below is the infamous and unforgettable “Reindeer by Committee” holiday card by my friend Mark Favreau. Nothing has ever captured the lunacy of working in the industry quite like this card. The gallery of his various holiday cards is worth a look (Mark’s a terrific artist) and Mark’s a multi talented guy having done everything from a CD ROM game (back when it was a trailblazing thing to do) to all kinds of design work.
1989. Furthering the point, this card was picked up by bunches of folks and organizations who, apparently feeling neglected that they were not consulted during its creation, wanted copies, permission to reproduce it, claim it as their own, rip it off, improve it, revise it, and otherwise participate in the creative process after the fact.
